About Me

As with any goal or change, it takes a while for it to kick in. So it's been a while since I've posted! (Sorry!) But here I am, ready and willing to try again.

I wanted to just put out a little bit about me to hopefully show where I am coming from, who I am, and why I'm interested in sharing the ideas I do.

I'm 22 years old, single, attending BYU University in Provo, Utah (yes, I am a Mormon) and love life. I love meeting new people, learning new things, having new experiences and finding ways to enjoy life as I continue down the road. I am doing Family Life Studies with an emphasis in Human Development and minor in Gerontology. Aka, I love the
learning principles on successful families and working with the elderly!

I am currently working at Orem Rehab and Skilled Nursing as a Rec. Therapy Assistant and LOVE IT. I love helping elderly enjoy the stage of life they are in through activities and their sweet personalities. And I just LOVE HAVING FUN.

I've had a lot of wonderful experiences in my life, one of my favorite however was serving as a Full Time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chiclayo, Peru for a year and a half. It was amazing. I learned so much about culture, language, life, and my Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel.

I've been home for about a year and a half and still enjoy new experiences such as vacations, jobs, college life and learning. This past summer I was able to be a Camp Counselor for EFY (Especially For Youth) all over the country. This program is run by the LDS Church and focuses on helping youth come closer to the Savior Jesus Christ and also learn how to face challenges through uplifting experiences with other youth. I LOVED IT. I was able to work in Provo, Nauvoo, IL, and St. Petersburg, FL. Traveling and learning from the youth changed me and was one of the greatest experiences I've had yet.

I also love organizing events and trying to serve those around me. Currently I am volunteering with BYU Student Alumni in organizing an event called "The Summit": A leadership conference featuring BYU Alumni to motivate and inspire students. I get to work with super cool people and have learned so much from my experiences volunteering there.

So there's all the basic stuff, the boring facts, and things you may not even care about. But the whole reason I wanted to start a blog and put myself out there a little more is just to share more of what my life is like and the things I am learning as I go through. Ideas, thoughts, experiences, questions, doubts, concerns, etc. etc.

I love thinking deep, asking why, sharing uplifting ideas, learning from others experiences and trying to be better. Not really sure if it will be of any benefit, but I promise it will be genuine and more than anything hopefully help you as you strive to make the same journey through life.

Here's some other pics of different hobbies and things I love!

The World of Infertility

The World of Infertility  Hey there.  This is something that has been on my mind for what feels like a very. long. time.  Infertility, loss, pregnancy, miscarriage, etc.  I want this post to be helpful for anyone who might read it. Someone who is also struggling to get pregnant. Someone who has never experienced infertility. And someone who knows someone who is struggling with this issue. As always, this is just my opinion and my thoughts- take as you will!  The Story  Infertility looks sooo different for everyone. For some, it is the inability to get pregnant. For others, it is a miscarriage, for everyone, it is the inability to have children when you want to.  When we first started the journey of trying to get pregnant, it was exciting! I had a hormonal IUD that I got removed two months before we started really trying. Each month I wasn't sure what to expect and I googled symptoms and signs like none other. As the months continued to drag on, I stopp...

I Am Never Getting Married

Hi there.  One, two, three, four. Yup. Straight up four posts in a row on Instagram of people announcing they are engaged, married or having a child. Cool.  Hands go up around the room to answer the professor's question. One, two, three, four. Yup. Literally, every single girl in this room is married beside me. The sparkle-less finger on my hand seems to stick out like a sore thumb.  I have definitely felt the sting of being single many times in my life, as I'm sure most single-adults have. It's nothing new, it's nothing bad, but at times, it really does sting.  Everyone gets married at different ages, everyone has different experiences. Some meet someone in their early twenties, some meet them later on in life. Culture, experience, expectations, and personality all make the process of dating and marriage differ for each of us. For some, getting married is a pressing goal that is just not attainable any time soon. For others, it may not be something they are yet year...

How I Will Vote as an Average American

How I Choose to Vote as an Average American  "Evil triumphs when good men do nothing." - Unknown  Who I Am I am an average American.  I say that, because I am.  I grew up in a middle-upper class family. I said the pledge of allegiance every morning in school. I learned about the constitution in school but somehow memorized none of it.  I never liked talking about politics because I felt stupid and uninformed. I felt like I never knew enough. We never talked about it at home and that was okay with me. I don’t really understand the stock market, I’d rather watch movies than the news, and spend most of my free time focused on having fun with family and friends.  However, when I went back to school to get my Master’s in Public Administration, I found myself in a government class. It was the hardest class in the world for me. I really had to work to understand the checks and balances, structure, and principles that govern our country.  I graduated with...
